Guidance for Using this Dashboard

Getting Started

Start by selecting a measure category then a specific measure within that category.

Payer Type

For commercial insurance coverage, usually available through your work or insurance you buy directly, the "commercial"  menu option on the left-hand side is right for you.  For Medicaid, Apple Health Care coverage, available through the health plans sponsored by the State of Washington, change the menu option to "Medicaid."

Measure Map v. Measure Trending Tabs

Measure Map allows you to see from a high level how each county performed in the most recent year this data was collected.

Measure Trending allows you to see how that quality measure has changed over time in a specific county. Once you switch to this tab, you will have to select a county or it by default will show no results.

Not Seeing a Specific Measure

There are limitations to what measures can be shown, learn more about how this is measured.

The medical practice and hospital quality measures are part of the Washington State Common Measures which are being used by many organizations to chart the progress toward healthier, better lives for Washingtonians.  For descriptions of the individual quality measures, see the WA-APCD measures list.

The Washington All-Payer Health Care Claims Database (WA-APCD) is the state’s most complete source of health and dental insurance data.

It contains claims from more than 30 commercial health care payers; the Medicaid program, including its five managed care plans; and Medicare Advantage, the HMO products for Medicare member.
