Eligible Data Users
Who is eligible to request WA-APCD data?
Researchers
- Requests must be accompanied by an Institutional Research Board (IRB) determination.
- Researchers may request the broadest set of data elements, including, direct patient identifiers, indirect patient identifiers, unique identifiers, or combinations of these. Researchers must submit a rationale for each data element requested in their data applications.
Federal, State, Tribal, and Local Government Agencies
- These organizaitons may request data products containing indirect patient identifiers, unique identifiers, or any combination of these.
- Not eligible to request data with direct patient identifiers.
Private, vommercial, and other entities
- These organizations may, with an appropriate data-use agreement (DUA), request data products containing indirect patient identifiers or unique identifiers but not those that contain direct patient identifiers.
Release upon request (RUR) datasets
- Any person or entity is an eligible data user for RUR datasets.
- A RUR dataset does not contain direct patient identifiers, indirect patient identifiers, or any combination.
